Most people still see BlueSky as “just another Twitter alternative.”
Honestly, I thought the same — until I paid attention to what’s actually different.

• You own your data. You can even write your own feed algorithms or use ones from the community.
• Transparent by design. What happens on the backend isn’t locked behind corporate walls.
• Created by former Twitter folks — this time aiming to avoid past mistakes.
• Free community data API.

The Limits You Should Know

• Still early-stage: fewer users, smaller community.
• Not everyone will move from X or Instagram right away.

Why I Care:

Closed-source platforms like X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram can quietly delete posts, lock accounts — especially during sensitive events. I’ve seen it happen. Multiple times. Not just to me, but across entire communities.
Bluesky Social isn’t perfect (yet), but it’s real progress toward something more stable and transparent.
